Youth Groups
We know about children's concerns and interests, so we have developed a Youth Group for the youth of our congregation combined with the youth from the Presbyterian Church here in town which meets Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.-supper will be provided. Youth Group will meet here at the Methodist Church Wednesdays in October, December, February, and April.  They will meet at the Presbyterian Church Wednesdays in September, November, January, and March.

This is a program that can provide the foundation for lasting friendships, helpful insights into various peer issues, and answers to their problems. How about sending your child to be a part of a friendly group of young people his or her own age? We offer peer groups that will guide your child into the right way rather than lead him or her astray. Newcomers are always welcome. We sponsor great parties, discussions, and programs that will allow your child to voice his or her opinion and listen to others. We will share our lives, our stories, and our faith with each other. What a great way to spend a Wednesday evening! If you have any questions, please call the church at 712-263-2934.

United Methodist Men
The mission of the General Commission on United Methodist Men is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will. First Church's UMM meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at 7:00 am at Cronk’s Cafe.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every shawl. Whether they are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, Peace Shawls, or Mantles, etc., the shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. The Prayer Shawl group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:00 am in the Fireside Room here at the church.
